Hi, I have a 2008 WRX. I have a question though, why did you get the intake first? Just curious because I did research for mine and it showed that intakes on our cars don't do much of a difference unless it's making over 400hp. I just did a drop in filter in my Subie because of this. I actually did some reading on NASIOC and saw that some people actually LOST power with an aftermarket intake. Welcome though, nice to see other Subie owners, especially another '08!

Ace, I did a little research before ordering the intake, the main reason I went ahead with it is because the STi had an aftermarket exhaust at the time of purchase. So i figured if the exhaust is upgraded, its a cat back Tsudo system, then the car needs to breathe a little easier as well. I had the drop in K&N first, and i came across an article about the AEM CAI, and how it doesn't require a tune. So i figured it would be a safe bet. Butttt after installing both the CAI and the step colder plugs I took her in to the dealership and had an oil change done.. Abel told me to remove the intake and plugs until I was ready for a tune. So i've pretty much gotten alot of mixed reviews regarding this and sidestepping an initial tune. At the end of the day the car is parked and won't be used until i can get the accessport. considering i've never modded a car in my life and the work i have done has been on my 68 Bronco, i'm as lost as a toddler in a topless bar when it comes to what to do how to do and when to do stuff to the STi. I guess this is the beauty of a boosted engine...

@merkush2.5 I've heard so much good and bad about local shops and motors and blowing them up and etc that i really have become hesitant on taking the car anywhere but Subaru for even just an oil change. I'm happy with the basic mods and performance of the STi and don't really want to get into the engine and internals etc.

Aside from that, the throttle feels more responsive, sounds awesome and pulls pretty hard.

the dyno sheet on the AEM CAI shows an improvement of 36hp over stock installed in a completely stock STi. that also aided in my purchase.
