Our forum is getting bigger and our For Sale section is the most active and popular sections on this site. So, in order to make it more organized and to make sure people understand what they are purchasing or selling we are setting rules and conditions for the Marketplace section. Please read them carefully to avoid having your topic deleted or locked.
Rules for sellingYou can advertise your items for sale here.
Commercial Vendors will not be permitted unless you are authorized.
If you have a business and would like a dedicated forum to sell your products please send me a PM.
- For Sale, WTB and Trade topic titles need to be in a topic specific format such as; FS: CTR Pistons or WTB: CTR Pistons or Trade: CTR Pistons, etc...
- Currently the topics are out of control; "buy this shit now", "read this", "must go", etc..... SO If topics are not titled right (as in the above example) it will be deleted.
- When posting a topic it needs to be specific with a good description (model numbers, what it fits, pictures if possible, etc..) and have a price in the description.
- Posting in the topic will be limited to questions for the seller and not comments (nice parts, bump for a clean car, etc...). those comments will be deleted.
- If you are selling something similar make your own topic and don't post in someone else's.
- Do not make a post telling the seller it can be purchased cheaper elsewhere.
- We will stick to or current bump rule.
- If you are wanting to sell something and want to get comments as to what price to sell it at, etc... You must post in the title "Feeler" which means you are feeling things out. example; Feeler: 22" M/T Slicks.
The For Sale section will now be limited to members with 50 or more posts . Since we don't have a feedback system like ebay, by having to make a couple of posts before you can make a For Sale topic helps give people on the forum a feel for the seller. Making 50 posts before you post in the Marketplace is not hard. There are lot's of topics on the forum you can participate in.
--------------------------
Rules revision 1/2009:
To view or post in the Marketplace you will now need 50 posts.
Why 50 posts? Well, 50 posts will give members a better feel for what the seller/buyer rep might be since they will be a little more established on the site. It will also hopefully help to reduce the number of bad deals.
BUMPS. we will closely moderate this since NO ONE is reading the current rules regarding this (3 day bump rule). Bumping includes posts that read "GL on the sale", "would buy but no $$$", "good price", etc... and of course "bump"
If you want the part and are serious then ask the seller or send a PM but don't post if you don't intend to buy.
All of these kind of these kinds of posts will be deleted. If the post keeps getting bumped by the original poster the whole topic will be deleted.
The main reason why this is done is to give everyone a chance to be at the top.
All Marketplace topics will run for 30 days. Every topic on here that has not been posted to in 30 days will automatically be deleted. If your topic gets deleted you will have to repost.
For Sale posting must have details (condition, what is included, etc.) including price and pictures if available.
Auto's for sale section.
When posting an ad the post will need to have the following:
Make, Model, Year
VIN
Mileage
Color
Title info (clean, salvaged, etc.)
what's included; engine, wheels, system, etc.
Price
and most important PICTURES.
Don't make a post and add "will post pics later" if you don't have the pics at the time of the post then don't post and wait until "later" to make the post.
Buyers also need to be smart when making a purchase especially a vehicle. I have received many emails and PM's regarding cars being purchased off of EPR and the car not having what was originally said to have or parts being removed right before delivery or the biggest thing having stolen or suspicious parts such as engines.
Make sure when purchasing everything is on paper and signed. Make sure the car is inspected properly. Pay attention to details and look at the engine for serial numbers, engine codes, etc... If these are removed or shaved off then be suspicious. USE COMMON SENSE.
